Go Passionately Pink to help save lives! — Just wear pink, have fun and raise money to fight breast cancer. Be inspired by the multitude of ideas right here, or think of your own. There are so many creative ways to have fun and fight breast cancer.
A minimum of 25 percent of the net income from each domestic Affiliate Race supports the national Komen for the Cure Grant Program, which funds groundbreaking breast cancer research, meritorious awards and educational and scientific conferences around the world.
Up to 75 percent of the net income from each domestic Affiliate Race stays in the local community to fund breast health education, breast cancer screening and treatment projects.
Based on a community needs assessment, Komen has identified the three following funding priority areas:
1. To reduce early breast cancer death in African American and rural populations though breast cancer prevention services.
2. To increase provider and community collaboration by funding health system and community partnerships to increase access to services, especially in Bienville, Sabine, and Caddo Parishes.
3. To identify and promote all breast cancer prevention methods to individuals who are uninsured and underinsured in Northwest Louisiana.
