How does a 5K Race make a huge impact on the global movement to end breast cancer forever?  Through the fundraising efforts of every participant. It's the 18th ANNIVERSARY OF OUR RACE FOR THE CURE.

FUNDRAISE 

You don’t need to be a fundraising expert to be successful at it – you just need the desire to stand up to breast cancer and make a difference.  Thanks to people like you, in 2011 the Komen Northwest Louisiana Affiliate was able to fund $220,000 for education, screening and treatment services in Caddo, Bossier, Red River, Natchitoches, Bienville, Claiborne, Webster, Desoto, and Sabine, and Wynn Parishes. This year we’re aiming even higher!  If every Race participant raised an average of $100 over the registration fee, the Komen Northwest Louisiana Affiliate would raise an additional $800,000. TIf every Race Participant raised an average of $18 over the registration fee, the Komen Northwest Louisiana Affiliate would raise an additional $144,000. Together, we can save lives!

Team Fundraising: Help your team set an ambitious fundraising goal and encourage them to set an individual goal to assist in reaching the team goal.

Individual Fundraising: When registering online, your personal webpage is automatically created. Your customizable webpage makes fundraising easy! Log on to set a personal fundraising goal, and begin inviting friends, family, co-workers, and colleagues to make a donation in your name. Let them know what you are doing in the fight against breast cancer and encourage them to make a donation on your behalf. Up to 75 percent of net proceeds generated by the Affiliate stays right here in the local community! The remaining income goes to the national Susan G. Komen for the Cure Grants Program to fund research.

INCENTIVES 

This year, for the first time, we are excited to partner with the Summit Group to provide you with our first Race for the Cure Incentive Program. Check back for more information on the program, as well as incentive prizes that are available for each fundraising level.

Also, this year, our affiliate will be recognizing our top race fundraising participants through our PINK HONOR ROLL program. Check back for more information on the program as well as ways our 2012 Pink Honor Roll members will be recognized.
